Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming the Honorable Amy L. Nechtem as our guest speaker. Judge Nechtem served as Chief Justice of the Massachusetts Juvenile Court from 2014-2024 and was appointed to the bench in 2001. As Chief Justice, she led the administration and advancement of policies and practices impacting juvenile justice and child welfare throughout the Commonwealth.

A proud Chelsea native, Judge Nechtem still calls Chelsea her "home" - and even shared that she still has her pitchfork from her days as a Chelsea High School Cheerleader. Fellow Rotarian Frank Kowalski fondly shared that he had the pleasure of watching Judge Amy grow up as her next-door neighbor. Her father, a longtime athletic director at Chelsea High School (a position that is currently held by Rotarian Allan Alpert's daughter, Amanda), was also an exceptional athlete during his time at CHS.

We are incredibly proud of our community and the remarkable people who come from it. Judge Nechtem's accomplishments are far too numerous to list here, but we are deeply grateful for her dedication and the profound impact she has made on the Commonwealth - especially in advocating for children, youth, and families.
